The Movie Review
Most people I know has a thing for Europe, be it Amsterdam, Athens, Brussels, Venice, Vienna or any other beautiful cities in Europe, and I am too. But I also have a thing for an unlikely country, Romania. Now, this country is usually always connected with something creepy, so when I knew there was a movie filmed in Bucharest, and it's not a horror one, I was so excited. So probably my review here could be not that even-handed, because I simply just love to see the city.
That too not to say that 7 Seconds is an awful movie. As an action movie, 7 Seconds is actually interesting in its action scenes. However there is something that fellow moviegoers will have to overlook to truly enjoy this action film.

7 Seconds is headlined by Wesley Snipes, the actor that have been more famous because of his role as the badass vampire slayer in Blade, especially with the release of last year Blade Trinity (Blade III). 7 Seconds was not intended for theatrical release since it was a direct-to-DVD movie, but at least with the presence of Wesley, 7 Seconds is fun enough to watch.
He is not a vampire slayer anymore, Wesley Snipes is Jack Tulliver, an ex-military who is now works as a thief and is planning to do armored car heist full of money from the local casino. Jack plans this with the help of his fellow military buddies and his Romanian girlfriend Suza (Georgina Rylance). Everything goes smoothly until an incident happens that leave Jack in the middle of fortune, he's in a bad luck for Suza is kidnapped but he also in a good luck for he steals a suitcase with Van Gogh painting that's worth more than all the money in the armored car. He has to figure out how to get Suza back and at the same time running from the hit men sent by the real owner of the painting, a Russian mafia boss named Alexsie Kutchinov (Pete Lee-Wilson).
This is a direct-to-DVD action flick, which means I didn't waste my time inside the theater only to watch it. But as a DVD, 7 Seconds is worth of renting. The action scenes are good and the dialogue even though silly and far from being intelligent, well...at least it catches up with the overall tone. Besides I don't always want to see a movie with clever lines. You know, sometimes watching gun fight, brawl and hearing silly mocking from Wesley is a simple mindless fun that I actually need after seeing "heavy"-theme movie.
