Are We Done Yet? is a sequel of Are We There Yet? released in 2005. The first entry panned by some critics, aside the fact that it's a moderate success and delivered fresh clean jokes. As usual business sometimes is all about making money, once the first entry reached a success, soon we are going to see its sequel. Are We Done Yet? is supposed to be a sequel, but probably the filmmakers have run out of idea, so they adapted the story from Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.

Nick (Ice Cube) Have married Suzanne (Nia Long) and is a father to Lindsey (Aleisha Allen) and Kevin (P D Bolden), Nick wants to buy a new house in the suburb area but the house is really in need of some serious reparation, but the stubborn Nick decides to fix it by himself which causes the house to be in a worse condition than before. Giving up, Nick hires an eccentric contractor Chuck Mitchell (John C Mcginley) complete with Chuck's crew, but turns out that his demeanor prolongs and expands the time and money needed to get the job done.

Speaking of comedy, this movie sure is a comedy, but for the older audience some of the chuckle-trigger scenes are highly irrational and unbelievably ridiculous. Most of the jokes exploit the tolerant Nick who hardly ever gets angry to what Chuck has done. Just that. But Are We Done Yet? proves to be appealing for kids and as a parent seeing their kids laugh happily, all the corny jokes are worthy.
