The Movie Review

Seeing three sexy girls kicking ass some dudes, what does remind you of? Charlie's Angels TV-series? Dead Or Alive (2006)? Or probably even Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965)? Alright you're right, but...replace the guns with the swords and also the skimpy outfit with cheerleading costume, then voila, we have Ninja Cheerleaders. Up to this I guess you could pretty much tell that this comedy flick will be involving sexy girls? Can't be more right. But if you guess that this movie will also be as fine as those girls, then you can't be more wrong.

Ninja is really not in such a hype these days, and cheerleader is a character that usually a stereotype in romantic or musical genre (although several b-movie horror

employs them too). So combining these two elements is a serious hard work, especially if the filmmakers honestly wanted to make a great film in the first place.

Three hot babes April, Monica and Courtney are cheerleaders on their university. Unfortunately these girls are not rich so they have to make money for living and tuition fee by stripping at the local bar. However don't get pervert on these chicks since they also trained as Ninjas by Sensei Hiroshi (George Takei from TV-series Heroes & Star Trek). However when a long time gone mafia comes back to the town, Takei is kidnapped. The girls now have to find a way to save him by means of their well-trained Ninja's skills.

First of all those delicate elements are incorporated into an onion-skin-thin storyline, where anyone could easily guess where this mess is going to end. Our heroines are pretty much savvy in anything, they could cheer, they make boys drool and make them bruised, they could perform martial arts and you know what...they could dance, um...strip dance. But um...without getting nekkid! Duh...

Funny thing is, this incoherent mess plus its below-mediocre acting quality, Ninja Cheerleaders is not that all boring. I didn't have to stifle a single yawn, I guess when everybody in the movie seems to enjoy playing their part, then the movie would bring up its own charm... The mindless fun.

Ninja Cheerleaders proves that making a movie is not as simple as putting some women flesh then dress them like Ninja/Cheerleader, it needs more than that. And in this case, way more...
