Gold digger…, That word has two principal definitions, the first is the term for someone (in this movie, a man) who uses his charm (if any) to deliberately dates much older and wealthy woman just to get his hands on the woman's money and property. The second definition would be “a movie that's hitchhiking on National Lampoon's famous name just to suck some unfortunate moviegoers (mostly teenagers) to buy the tickets to see the movie".

National Lampoon's Gold Diggers, or in its other title Lady Killers, was released in September 2004 and features one of old faces from previous coming-of-age movies, Chris Owen.

Cal (Will Friedle) and Lenny (Chris Owen) are two desperate guys who are really eager to be rich but without having to put much effort. Cal comes up with an unusual idea, which is to rob a woman in broad daylight, but that's failed, and they end up in jail for a month. Later they try once more to rob two old women on a street, again in broad daylight, but failed and sent behind the bars once more. Unexpected by them, the old women, Doris (Louise Lasser) and Betty (Renee Taylor) bail them out of jail and even invite them to their house. Cal and Lenny see this opportunity to gain easy money by being the gold diggers.

If comedy had been a person, then I don't know how enraged he would've been to see this film. How this movie strips all funny elements from the comedy's body and soul, and how they replace those elements with something totally unfunny and totally inappropriate. Not raunchy like in most teenager movies these days, but disgusting scenes that even the cement scenes from National Lampoon's Van Wilder is a great salvation for it. The characters are also uninteresting and the dialogue itself is mind-numbingly dull.

To all teenagers out there who bought the ticket highly likely expecting to see NL's type of comedy, well guys you're making the wrong decision. Better stay away from this one, it’s devoid of all the exciting parts of college/high school life, devoid of a thing called Laugh, and devoid of any other amusing/entertaining elements. Seeing two unattractive old women dressing in grotesque porn-star like outfits while flirting with two uninteresting young men is already a sore sight for the healthy eyes and when the end credits role then it will become a sight for the sore eyes.
