Ok guys, this one here really rocks almost every minutes of it, no doubt, I left the theatre with a good feeling of contentment! Noting that I also into rock music though..
Jack Black roles as Dewey Finn, a wacky rock star who got kicked out by his own band for having selfish performance and for not being able to be a team player. Having threatened to be kicked out again, now from his apartment, by his roommate's girlfriend Patty (Sarah Silverman) for not paying his rent debt of $2,200, the desperate Dewey takes a job as a substitute teacher at Horace Green Elementary, which was originally meant for Dewey's roommate Ned Schneebly (Mike White). Horace Green Elementary Principal Rosalie Mullins (Joan Cusack) introduces Dewey to the class, but not being able to spell the name Schneebly, he instead tells the class to call him Mr. S.
Does nothing and teaches nothing but to give the class recess almost all the time, one day much to his shock, Dewey finds out the kids at his class are very talented in music. He comes up with an idea to secretly form a rock band and trick the kids by telling them that it was for the School Project, and the reason why they have to conceal the music practice is because they are taking a head start.
Anyone who appreciates rock music will have a quality time watching this film but even those who are not, School of Rock offers good storyline and the hyperactive Jack Black seems very well suited for the role since he is also a real rock musician, but maybe the biggest attraction here is the music performance of the kids, and that is splendid. They perform extraordinarily well! As you can already suspected, any movie involving kids and music must have some touching moments, but since it's a movie about rock music, then it might not be that touching as it should.
All things considered, it's merely a movie about rock music and Jack Black's gusto. Jack has successfully enliven this comedy with his passion of rock music. In a couple of decades to come, School of Rock highly likely become one the source of references in movies concerning music.
