Boy oh boy, sometimes people just can't get their hands off of a sequel. Animal-gone-amok world would even more crammed with the arrival of anaconda 3. Remember the first one? Oh it's been 10 years, and the second one? 4 years ago. Now what could anaconda and its friends possibly do this time?
Aired by the SciFi channel on Saturday, Anaconda 3 unfortunately is worse than the last two. With bad special effects and all, I think Anaconda 3 is wise enough just to be showing itself on TV instead on Theaters. And with its DVD coming up on October 2008, fellow moviegoers should probably know what the story is about.
Anaconda 3: The Offspring is again of course about the big snake Anaconda. A medical company named Wexel Hall owned by the ill Mr. Murdock is searching for a new serum for cancer by mutating snakes and doing cruel experiment on them. One day Murdock decides to visit his company, but his foolishness enrages the queen anaconda, and eventually this incident led to the Anaconda escaping to the nearby woods. A team of mercenaries then hired to hunt this big snake. But the matter is actually worsened by the fact that the queen is deliberately made pregnant by the scientist as the offspring would help them perfecting the serum.
For fans of Anaconda, don't get your hopes too high. While even Anacondas (Anaconda 2) still could deliver the excitement especially on the waterfall scene, Anaconda 3 is nothing but mere chasing, panting and running with those hissing animal. As with most of SciFi channel movies, Anaconda 3 is bad in special effects, and for a movie that relies heavily on the scary figure of an animal, then the fake snakes sure blow the excitement. Luckily though almost all the actors could play along very well with the fake vague snakes, so the audience won't be totally disappointed.
Anaconda 3 surely will not satisfy the fans who probably have waited long enough for it, and it suits only for those of you who really (and really) don't have anything to good enough to watch. If you are really into snake movies then the silly Snakes on a Plane (2006) would now seem like a masterpiece of horror film.
