Cheating is always something exhilarating, isn't it...? Not. At least not according to this erotic thriller movie Fatal Attraction. A movie that people always talk about and a movie that makes men feel a bit (really?! just a bit) afraid of the consequences of cheating. Released in 1987 and stars Michael Douglas as the sorry man.

Repentance always comes last. A cheating person might end up loosing his true partner or his stable life. Some probably would even lose their conscious mind. You would find somebody nice and stupid to cheat with right? What if, you dated the wrong person, and I mean a person with a really "wrong" mind?

Dan Gallagher (Michael Douglas) is a regular 24/7 attorney that one night on a party finds an attractive and smart girl Alex Forest (Glenn Close). Soon an affair is unavoidable and the two indulge on a fiery night. Of course since they are both adults, Dan thinks that this would be a one-night-stand relationship only. So the next day Dan goes home to his family and leads his everyday normal life. Unbeknownst to him, Alex has fallen head-over-hell to Dan and obsessed with him. Whew talking about the wrong person eh.

To Dan's shocking surprise, Alex repeatedly enters his life with awestricken determination to have Dan. All this wouldn't matter much to Dan if only Dan didn't love his wife (Anne Archer) and his 6-year-old daughter (Ellen Hamilton Latzen) very much. There is no going back for Dan; his life would never be the same again that even simple phone rings sound dreadfully daunting.

Without any means of condescending, but the face (of course Kudos for the make-up department) and the look of Glenn Close alone already seal the deadly deal, added that her acting is also superb makes her character even more alive and terrifying. Solid performances have been also been given by majority of the cast populating this movie, however it is the story that really sells. This film spends a good amount of time to make the audience sympathize for the protagonist but without judging the antagonist as the bad-guy.

Fatal Attraction is thrilling alright, I was surprised actually to be scared by a sexy lady like Alex, the plot is understandable and far from being jumpy. To my embarrassment, Alex is a one scary woman.

Fatal Attraction..., Whew, truly a movie for women, to buy its video as a gift for their spouse. It's a chick-flick in a whole different meaning.

> More of Chick-Flick in a whole different meaning: Body of Evidence (1993) features more of Anne Archer, Basic Instinct (1991) with Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone and of course Body Heat (1981) with Kathleen Turner.
