Fellow moviegoers, please do not judge this movie by the presence of Paris Hilton, sincerely thought, House of Wax is a good horror slasher movie.

I'm not going to pretend not knowing who Paris is and what sorts of things she has done, but I also do not want to be sarah silverman who deliberately mocked Paris on MTV Awards, I am just going to review House of Wax as a horror movie that was not created by Paris but other people who has given a great effort to make this movie.

House of Wax is a film loosely remade from 1953 titled with the same name. The film tells of Six college students, Carly (Elisha Cuthbert), Paige (Paris Hilton), Nick (Chad Michael Murray), Blake (Robert Ri'chard), Dalton (Jon Abrahams), and Wade (Jared Padalecki) drive across the woods to see a big football game, but on the way Blake decides to take a shortcut followed by the others, which leads them to nowhere, tired, they pull over and build a campsite. Spending the night with making out and joking around suddenly they smell disgusting stench coming from the other side of the woods, added with a strange truck pull up in front of their campsite with questionably intention but then leave after Nick throws beer bottle at truck's right headlight.

In the morning Wade's car breaks down, in need for a fan belt, Wade accompanied by Carly finally finds a quiet town called Ambrose, where The House of Wax sits silently creepy. Luckily they find a supportive guy named Bo (Brian Van Holt) who willing to help them and invites them to his house to get the extra fan belt. But soon Carly discovers that he is the mysterious truck driver.

Yes another dimwitted college students, yes there are--once again--6 of them, yes there is the rebellious hot shot et cetera et cetera and of course the slutty blonde...Paris. Pitted against 2 sick serial killer with one of them (although both roles played by Brian) acts unconvincingly. Unoriginality is the name of the game here, but it still offers good pace of tension and gory moments that satisfy general moviegoers, mainly by the eerie atmosphere of the distinctive House of Wax or Town of Wax.

Paris Hilton won a Razzie award for Worst Supporting Actress, however she was also nominated for Best Frightened Performance at MTV Movie Awards 2006 and even won Choice Movie Scream Scene at Teen Choice Awards 2006. I won't argue with it, Paris Hilton's performance was really terrible, but the expression she made on her face while being chased by the killer was first-rate.
