Lindsay...Lindsay...many people have panned your movie, mainly maybe because of your attitude in the past. What she does in her time outside the movie is her personal business. Then putting aside all those things, my responsibility here is to present a review for fellow moviegoers concerning the quality of Lindsay's latest movie, I Know Who Killed Me. As a horror/thriller movie, I Know Who Killed Me is suited to the genre and it suited very nicely.
Aubrey Fleming (Lindsay Lohan) is just an ordinary high school girl who has a very imaginative and creative mind but never has any mental illness tendency. At one night, after attending a concert with her friends, she suddenly disappears. Her parents are worry to death about Aubrey, since there were many girls reported missing in that city and one of the latest victims was a girl from Aubrey's high school. After a few days, she was found unconscious on the side of the road in a very horrible condition, with some of her body parts amputated!
Alas, when she was brought to the new salem hospital and her parents and friends are rejoicing her return, Aubrey doesn't even remember her name! She insisted that she is Dakota Moss. The FBI doesn't buy her witness, because they find out that Dakota is a character name which Aubrey has created for her school assignment. Is Aubrey experiencing Amnesia? Why does she have full explanation for Dakota's life? Or why would she make the FBI's work difficult? Or what?
I Know Who Killed Me presents its storyline in a creative and artistic manner. The Audience's mind is being flip-flopped nicely between thriller and gore and mystery and suspense and even comedy. The entire running time is also accompanied by great and creepy musical score. The flow of the story is maybe slightly hard to follow but then again it shows that this movie has class. That is if you don’t mind to concentrate a little bit more on the storyline. This year particularly, when all horror movies are running into the slasher fields by slashing their entire cast one by one, I Know Who Killed Me is a great interlude.
The storyline is captivating; it intrigues you to really know what the heck is happening to Aubrey that night. The mystery fills the air all the way through this film. The gory scenes are not much, but when they bleed, those moments are gut-wrenching and definitely will make average moviegoers turn their face away. The comedy is also very funny, I thought it would be a big flaw to slip a comedy scene, but it blends well with the overall tone, this technique often employed by the British filmmakers for their horror movies. And of course the last but not least, Lindsay Lohan shows that she is a talented actress who could also role in a thriller film. Some scenes of Dakota are also sights for the sore eyes.
This movie has one of memorable ending scenes that I really fond of. Functioning as a thriller movie, I Know Who Killed Me is a great mystery-slash-thriller movie.
