The Movie Review

Werewolf is an old English word for a creature that is half-wolf and half-man. Were is an old English word for man, to be exact.

Weredumb is my English term for a person who watches this horror movie without being salvaged immediately to see another entirely different exciting movie...

Fortunately enough, after I saw this wolf-flick, I had enough time to rush immediately to see another film just to stop thinking about the money I've wasted...sigh....

I like to read literatures about werewolf, heck there's something about them that's really cool with their long

hair and brusque figure and solidarity among them. But werewolves in Skinwalkers somehow fails to deliver those criteria.

Although the story is lacking in originality, the plot is quite promising. The Werewolves is divided into 2 packs with different fundamental needs. The good werewolves want to cure themselves through a means of a boy named Timothy (Matthew Knight) who once reaches the age of 13 will have the ability to cure them. Of course the bad werewolves are disgusted by the idea, since they enjoy the inherited blood-lust in them. Unknowingly to the boy and his mother Rachel (Rhona Mitra), they are constantly guarded by a family of good wolves lead by Timothy’s uncle Jonas (Elias Koteas). On the other hand the bad guys have also been constantly searching for that boy, only to put him out of the picture.

Hinted by a video circulated among the good werewolves to show that timothy is in healthy condition, in a one fine day the bad guys lead by Varek (Jason Behr) with their big bikes arrive at town called Huguenot, the battle ensues between the two distinctive families.

Sounds pretty good right? Not in execution. First, the bad guys look like the characters from Wild Hogs (2007) but in poor financial condition a.k.a. hobo look alike and lead by a cute-in-a-kinda-eau-de-cologne-for-men model. Second, everything appears to be half-baked, the werewolf figure, the dialogues, and the acting. But the biggest flaw comes from Sonja (Natassia Malthe), a female member of the bad guys who overdoes everything, though she contributes as the single attractively-clothed female.

So unless you are a big fan of the werewolf clan like myself, then once the movie gets to the end, weredumb is lurking…
