There are already so many movies involving incident happening on a plane, but after a while the theme is already moth-eaten, yes of course some of them are really good, but like I said, the theme is stale. More or less, it involves crazy people meet nice people on a plane where there is no place to run and only limited place to hide. Samuel L. Jackson now will bring you different kind of terror, yup, vicious snakes smuggled inside a late-night plane that runs amok and chasing everybody around. Sounds fun eih? Of course!
In Hawaii Sean Jones (Nathan Phillips) witnesses an Asian gangster Eddie Kim (Byron Lawson) executing a prosecutor, so Sean is chased to be killed. Until he is rescued by an FBI agent Neville Flynn (Samuel L. Jackson) and soon taken into Los Angeles to witness against Eddie Kim under a program called witness protection. Eddie Kim knows the plan and making a devilish scheme to smuggle lotsa and lotsa snakes on the cargo hold of the plane that's taking Sean and Neville from Hawaii to Los Angeles. The presence of these snakes is undetected because they are cold-blooded animal, literally.
Now, Sean as the prime witness is put in the first class only with Neville and Neville's partner. This plan alone has caused minor disagreement among other passengers that have paid for the first class. And there are any kind of passengers, a kickboxer Chen Leong (Terry Chen), a rapper Three Gs with his two big bodyguards, a spoiled girl Mercedes with her little dog (that kinda like Paris Hilton-wannabe?) and Tiffany (Sunny Mabrey) a flight attendant who seems to like Sean Jones. After all the introduction then soon comes the moment that the audiences have been waiting for, those freaking venomous snakes slip out of their containers and start to roam the plane. Let the Fun begins!
Fun? Why do I keep mention fun instead of fear? Because that is exactly you would get from this horror movie. Oh my, I won't even start to talk about any scary moments. There is room for terror, absolutely. But this film simply just ignores that potential. It will only scare the sh*t out of a person who has Aerophobia (afraid of flying) or acrophobia (afraid of height). SOAPlane instead makes the scenes more comical than scary and induces laughter instead of fear, most notably the scene on the toilet. Tee hee...
'Nuff said, Snakes on a Plane really knows how to use the internet to create hype of the movie, but when you do finally see it and realize its material, this film is simply a tad above average. I ask my friend that didn't have any clue about this movie until it's released, to watch this movie and to say his opinion. He only said "its okay, it's quite fun". If you really curious about it then make positively sure that you bring your friends. It's the cheer of the audience that really worth the time. Okay? So I've had it! With these m*therf*ck*ng snakes on this m*therf*ck*ng plane!
