The Movie Review
Vagina Dentata...., What the heck on earth is that...?!
Okay okay first stop, even though funny this movie is absolutely a horror movie, and for those of you who want to experience novelty in horror movie, at least in this recent years where Hollywood have brought up a lot of movies about serial killer in a foreign land (such as Wolf Creek, Turistas or Borderland), then Teeth could give that new experience. Exciting and scary at one grasp.
Fellow Moviegoers let this movie be a lesson to all cheaters! Well for guys especially. Teeth presents its horror

atmosphere in a different way. How could it not be different, while the premise itself is one heck of an idea. Terrifyingly scary for guys but also in the same time absolutely hilarious. Fresh idea like this is always a pleasure to watch, and being released in the first month of 2007. I sure do hope the upcoming horror movies would be as fresh as this.
Dawn O'Keefe (Jess Weixler) is a regular high school student who holds up high to her virginity and often enrolls on some abstinence program, a program that prevent sex before marriage. However at one meeting, she suddenly has a crush on a guy named Tobey who apparently also falls for her. They get to know each other very well, and those two love birds are almost making love until Dawn gets a grip on herself thus makes Tobey frustrated. What Tobey and Dawn herself don't realize is that Dawn possesses what is called as "Vagina Dentata", a myth (that is not such a myth anymore) about a woman vagina with teeth on it!! Tobey's decision next after being frustrated at that time will lethally decide their future in the sex department.
Man, at one point I didn't know whether to cringe or laugh! How could I not cringe on the sight where there is blood on that private part of a man (pen*s) but upon seeing that such over-the-top weirdness, now how could I not smile and laugh! All that of course thanks to the great script and the solid performance of the entire cast.
Jess Weixler who is born in 1981 and is actually 26 years old has this comical charm on her instead of horror but she could use the charm to make her character, Dawn O'Keefe to be something deadly funny and funnily lethal. There's one line that made me cringe and smile when Dawn says similar to this "Oh sh*t, see I told you not to mess with me, now there goes your pen*s" Yesss! Niiice punch line, a kind of mixed emotion that I certainly welcome.
Teeth is some chick flick alright! It's a comedy and horror aaaand gore wedded nicely into one heck of a movie. It's nice to see a woman to be a heroine without having to do something boyish or whatever like that. One thing for sure, Teeth is one memorable movie for its wacky horrifying story. In a nutshell, kudos for the story and the script, with a budget for only 2 million dollars, Teeth once again is another testimony of the power of idea.
