The Movie Review

Oh my my....I am speechless.....What a totally awful zombie movie...

First of all, I do appreciate the works of the people in producing this movie, I know it's absolutely not easy to make a movie. But as a movie critic, I have to be honest for all the moviegoers out there who deserve to see a good quality and entertaining movie. Those two words have lost their meaning in The Rising Dead.

It appears, The Rising Dead is a family project. A low-budget movie with only a few people behind it with one person wears multiple hats of position. Let me make it clear,

it was produced by the Cousins Brothers, precisely Brent Cousins and Blake Cousins. Only two persons in charge of all the production, story, screenplay, cinematography, editing, special digital visual effects, prop design, casting, location scouting, set design and audio and....of course one position that is not to be missed, Blake Cousins stars as John Blake a.k.a. the Special Forces Agent. I've gotta say what a multi-talented people they were, hmm were they...?

Okay okay, now the storyline, which is far from innovative....So, the world we've known before has long gone, caused by biological weapons warfare, resulted in epidemic that mutates people and cause the dead to rise. So the beautiful world (the island of Hawaii btw) now occupied by a bunch of zombie. America's leader is being escorted in plane to a safe place when the plane crashes just a few miles before reaching its destination. Only 6 people left...Mr. Blake (Blake Cousins), Gaberial Sinclair (Gabe Hernandez), Ariel (Rose Anne Okumura), Catherine (Catherine Louise), Treasure (Treasure O'Keefe) and Amber (Iwoaka), and so they have to help each other to find a temporary safe place while crossing path with the zombies before they can be located and rescued.

See the name? 4 out of 6 are even using their real names. Their acting are unbelievably awful, Mr. Blake consistently trying to be macho, Treasure may have to learn more from Dakota Fanning. The Rest...., well just as I thought that the best acting in this movie would be credited to the zombies, it struck me out of the blue when I saw how ridiculously funny the expression of the zombies are, one of them has the expression of a guest in a surprise birthday party.

There are 2 main parts of the movie, 1st. The acting and 2nd. The Narrative Story told by none other than Mr. Blake himself...Again?! I don't think I could put my little nephew to bed with a story narrated with that kind of tone. If only the Cousins Bros had employed more people maybe things would have gotten a bit more spine-tingling. If only…
