The Movie Review

One of the nightmares has come true, now the box office bomb BloodRayne (2005) is continued with a sequel which is far more defective than the first installment under the title BloodRayne 2: Deliverance.

In the first movie, although it has many flaws, I still could manage to find some good stuffs amidst its nuttiness, especially Loken gracing the screen, now she is replaced by Natassia Malthe of Lake Placid (1999), Skinwalkers (2006) and DOA: Dead or Alive (2006). The story of Rayne is just getting weirder, as she is now wandering around in the old western city called Deliverance, in a mission to get rid of the most brutal enemy (or so they say), a wicked vampire notoriously known as... Billy the Kid (Zack Ward). Yup Billy the Kid!

Weep weep sob sob..., unfortunately she can't do the job by herself, so she recruits other vampire hunters with different personalities. Rayne now has what she needs to take Billy and his gang down. Vampire vs. Billy the Kid... Hmm, it sounds dreadfully familiar with a film produced more than 4 decades ago, Billy the Kid vs. Dracula (1966).

Just to brief you, Rayne is a Damphir, a daughter of a human (her mother) and a vampire (her father), she possesses vampire strength but none of the weaknesses. So Rayne is supposed to be a very freakin' powerful right? kinda like Blade... Nope, she is very puny and vulnerable, one of the most pathetic heroines I know, and this is not a comedy movie. No agility, no martial arts, no ability, and wearing oversize outfit (again), what do you expect from Rayne? Monotonous dialogue, boring music, plus the ever notorious slow-motioned-death-sequence? C'mon. Man, I don't feel good about pointing negative points of this movie, cause I like to play BloodRayne game, but then again I've tried to find the positive point of this direct to video motion picture, which I think... mmm... almost none.

> But surprisingly, the third entry is fun!: Bloodrayne: The Third Reich (2010)
