Frat Party has got this typical storyline of mixing up young college dudes with girls, party, and gross humor in a simple-minded plot with extra nudity on the side. Everyone who rents or buys dvds a lot on the net or on their local stores surely realize some movies are not meant to be taken seriously. Typically a movie that relates to jokes about young people, romance, college and party usually oozes that cheesy quality of a B-movie. But some movies unfortunately would only be remembered for its sleaze only.
Basically and mainly we only focus on a college dude named Duffy (Randy Wayne of The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning (2007). Duffy is all that. He had scored so many hot chicks on campus but he eventually found his true love, Adriana (Caroline D'Amore of Sorority Row (2009)). Adriana is the daughter of a Rich Italian family who forces Duffy and Adriana to get married right after graduation. This is where problems occur, because Duffy is dying to attend his fraternity party, the Gamma house party, on Friday, while the wedding is gonna be on Saturday. And the location of both parties is separeted by flight-distance. Only a mad man would go to the frat party. But since Duffy loves his frat brothers so much, he would go to any length to be there. It's not gonna be easy for him, because a rich man named Stefano (Robert Parks-Valletta), the ex of Adriana, is going to ruin his plan and trying to get Adriana back!
See how simple that plot is? I'm sorry to inform you the execution is much worse. Boring movie with boring story only to be saved from being zero-starred mainly by an array of topless actresses and enjoyable moderate pacing and some good soundtracks. You don't have to be a genius to write a movie like this, heck mate, I guess you don't even have to be serious. But this movie really managed to be almost un-reviewable, and I'm really lenient in making this review. From the start, you got that really extra hot topless women as this movie eye candies, and a cameo by a real porn star, Jesse Jane. But there you go, it lasts only for about the first 1/3 of the film, and that's the only redeeming thing about the movie. This is one of the worst takes on comedy ever! Almost zilch funny moment, I could chuckle a bit for 5 seconds only. The drama sucks, no chemistry to be found either between Duffy and Mac (Jareb Dauplaise) or Duffy and Adriana. Lackluster camerawork, awful characters which make people think college students are the numero uno retardos.
This is also worsen by the awful acting! Some of the cast are okay (Randy Wayne, Jareb Dauplaise of Meet the Spartans (2008), and Lauren C. Mayhew of American Pie Presents Band Camp (2005)) but mostly the rest are pretty awful. Or should I say pretty but awful? And what's with the Italian accent? Whow, you can find much better Italian accent examples on Youtube! I don't have the heart to recommend this movie for anyone or any occasion at all. And by the by, the Frat Party is very lame, which makes you wonder why would Duffy want to be there in the first place? Just for that? And he only has two friends? Whow... such a waste of time... But I do admit, that even though the build up to the ending is really really awful, but the shot of the couple kissing against the sunset is beautiful and it's a god choice to put in a Bulgarian (I guess) music in the ending credits.
> Just go over to these houses for better fun: Old School (2003) and National Lampoon's Van Wilder (2002).
