Review of the Movie
Chubby furry lazy cat named Garfield was originally a comic character created by Jim Davis, it is well known worldwide for its funny and annoyingly remarks. Now 20th Century Fox takes Garfield to the big screen hence "Garfield: The Movie".
Garfield's owner Jon Arbuckle (Breckin Meyer) takes home a puppy named Odie, to get the sympathy of a Vet Dr. Liz Wilson (Jennifer Love Hewitt). Of course this is against Garfield's wish, then jealousy strikes Garfield (voiced by Bill Murray), seeing as Jon really takes care of Odie. As the senior in the house Garfield constantly try to agitate Odie, but much to Garfield's disbelief, Odie seems don't mind being verbally assaulted. One day Jon and Dr. Liz take Garfield and Odie to a dog show, there Odie dance

the disco dance trying to imitate what Garfield do. Spotted by TV personality Happy Chapman (Stephen Tobolowsky), Odie is kidnapped, this mainly also because of Garfield's fault. Feeling guilty, Garfield embarks on a mission to rescue the poor puppy.
Unfortunately although the dialogue between the cast (human) and the CGI characters looks ok but the CGI characters don't look as sophisticate as it should be to be believable. And it's hard to fully enjoy this film when we can clearly see that they all just fake. It reduces a lot the fun level that can be built up by the interaction. Highly likely Garfield: The Movie only appeal to younger audience.
Even so, Garfield has reached worldwide revenue for a total close to US $ 200 million, and that's almost 4 times the Budget. Bottom line is, Garfield manage to entertain a lot of people, especially the kids and cat-loving people and for all I know, a movie that entertains is a good movie.
