If a movie is produced with low-budget, contain no valuable storyline, employs unusual animals as the main culprits and likely people haven't even heard of the movie's title, then Why in the world would you moviegoers want to watch this kind of stuff right? Yes, normally we don't, but for real B-movie lovers, there is one factor that could make us overlook all that flaws mentioned above... the director! Yes, some directors could actually pull off low-budget horror/action into entertaining brainless entertainment. One of them is Fred Olen Ray.

This time we are going to see how those little creatures living beneath your garden or even in your room will gone amok and kill some dudes and babes. Yeah, it's the Ants ladies and gentlemen. But the question is... Could Fred Olen Ray manage to make viewing Glass Trap worth our time and money?

It's all started when illegally imported plants were brought into the city of Los Angeles. It turns out the plants were carrying dreadful 'passengers' that threatens the life of any living creatures nearby (mainly people). These crawling murderers have already killed a worker of the plant shop where the plants are being sold and unfortunately those plants were delivered on the exact same day to a big office building as decoration.

Agent Elizabeth Lucera from USDA (Tracy Brooks Swope) and Sheriff Ed Hansen (Andrew Prine of Grizzly (1976) & The Centerfold Girls (1974)) are initially cooperating just to investigate the plants. But they are going to face much bigger problems. Luckily the unlikely team is getting along well with each other. But the culprits have already inserted into the building and not very long they are going to start tearing up their victims. Could Agent Lucera and Sheriff Hansen stop the killings. What will happen in this Waldman building? (A building which of course partly made of glass, hence glass trap!)

It's not everyday you see chicks in lingerie gliding!

Glass Trap is one of the example of a good little b-movie. It contains good amount of funny comedy scenes, the dialogue are also light-hearted and there is one factor that some writers usually don't give a darn care about, but it is present here... Interesting characters! The characters that are staying and doing their activities in that said office building are not many but they are unique. We got a pushover security guard, an iron-fisted female manager, Joan (Stella Stevens), with her meek assistant, Sharon (Siri Baruc of Mega Snake (2007) and American Bandits: Frank and Jesse James (2010)), who has a crush on the friendly janitor, Curtis (C. Thomas Howell of Killer Bees! (2002)), a photographer with hilarious made-up accent with his two hot models and his spiritual advisor (this is a surprise!), and we also got a father who irks his teenage daughter for always busy working... on stealing data from the building! In Glass Trap, the story takes place on Saturday which means not many people to be found, but these characters who actually managed to be enlivened up by the cast are good choices. Although the acting of many people here require much improvement!

Of course you don't have to use your brain to enjoy this nature gone wild film, seriously guys, the fun factors of watching Glass Trap are not to be found in the production quality but on the fun that we have in seeing how stupid these characters are and how lousy that CGI Big-sized Ants are! I mean it's clearly made not to impress the judges of Academy Awards but I'm sure it's made with fun. Aside from the very lousy CGI ants, we even got some Big-sized rubber Ants! You see, the size of these ants is half your body, so we can even call them as monster ants. And oh yeah, this movie is also rather gory with disgusting looking corpses of the victims being shown!

If you're fan of Fred Olen Ray, this is a movie you can actually enjoy, and if you are an animal horror lovers, Glass Trap could be an enjoyable movie. You just have to set your expectations lower than usual perhaps :-)

> For the well-remembered legion of ants in amounts of millions, get ready for: The Naked Jungle (1954).

> But if you expect to see a serious ant film, it's clearly this one: Phase IV (1974).
