Talking about improvements...! This Hulk movie is the real one, full of excitement and of course a hulky amount of upsides compare to the first Hulk. Marvel and the filmmakers have done a nice job to patch things up.
Continues the first story of Hulk, Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) is seen working on a beverage factory in Brazil and where he lives momentarily in Rocinha Favela, a famous/notorious ghetto in Brazil. An incident slashes her finger a bit which causes his Gamma-radiated blood to spill into one of the bottle ready to be sent to America. Meanwhile, General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross (William Hurt) is deploying a team to search and tranquilize Bruce, so that General Thunderbolt Ross could dissect Bruce and uses his blood to make something awful. Will Bruce escapes the full-armed team, and would he reunite again and live peacefully with his girlfriend Elizabeth Ross (Liv Tyler)?
First of all, to tickle audience's curiosity and excitement, we go to Brazil! No, no, not that Turistas (2006)-material Brazil, but to Rocinha Favela, an exotic place on its own term. Second of all, Edward Norton is the Hulk, a guarantee for a very splendid acting plus Liv Tyler and William Hurt. Third of all, The Incredible Hulk is not solely about a big angry Computer-Generated-Imagery guy running amok and screaming like a hurt bear. This Superhero movie combines Acting which I think like the Hulk-version of Yamakasi, dramatic scenes where Bruce Banner has to deal each single day with his abnormality, and romantic scenes where there is absolute chemistry between Norton and Liv Tyler. Which I also think tops the hanging-kiss of spider man and MJ. And don't forget the gentle comedy though will not make you laugh still amusing and effective, like the scene where Bruce is in a taxi which driver maneuvers and speeds recklessly. Hey it's a superhero movie, it should have light jokes.
The Incredible Hulk still consists of aforementioned Hulk figure fighting with a CGI enemy, The Abomination, but at least the figure of Abomination is very interesting. And don't worry if you haven't watched the first Hulk, General Thunderbolt Ross gives a bit of information of what happened before. Besides, the quality of The Incredible Hulk is absolutely much better than Hulk (2003). This is one of examples where a sequel crowns the first one in every single thing.
One more thing that actually deserves a compliment, the size. Yes, the size of Hulk in The Incredible Hulk is much more logical (read: Believable) than in Hulk. If The Incredible Hulk is used as yardstick in Hulk Franchise, then I sure am waiting for another installment. It's fun and worth spending your time.
