Labeling a movie with the name National Lampoon might be a good thing or a bad one. National Lampoon in most moviegoers' minds probably being translated as a comedy movie with a hefty dose of raunchy stuff and silly (but exciting) story. Bag Boy is definitely the exact opposite of that. So I guess many viewers are disappointed after renting of buying its video for expecting something else. And judging by its Cover which has women's underwear on it, it's a total lie.

So what's it about anyway? Bag Boy is a film about a good guy named Phil (Paul Campbell) who has a huge talent in bagging stuff that customers buy in a supermarket owned by Marty (Dennis Farina). Alas, for unknown reason Marty fired Phil which sends Phil in great despair. Lucky for him, a hot but also hot-headed girl named Bambi (Marika Dominczyk) who just recently employed in that grocery store, confronts Marty and forces him to take Phil back. Marty finally is willing to train Marty to face the NBC or National Bagging Championship and to become the winner. But it's not going to be easy since Marty is a quite grumpy old man and Phil also often suffers panic attack.

Okay, for the review this time, I will make it short since, well, there is also nothing much to talk about anyhow. Is Bag Boy funny? Not really. Is it raunchy? Ooo, again far from that. Is is interesting? Nope. So what's good about it? First of all, he acting of the leading cast is very decent. They fit the characters well, and there isn't any miscast. Many of the supporting characters are acting over-the-top though. This makes we wonder, why a good actor such Dennis Farina wants to play in this movie? His previous movie in 2004 Paparazzi at least fits him well, who roles as a Detective. And guess who else appears in Bag Boy? Brooke Shields. Now if you already satisfied only by seeing Brooke's face, who only makes a cameo, then go get fetch the video of Bag Boy.

Nevertheless, the overall quality of Bag Boy is not totally bad. It's just not entertaining enough and even worthy enough your precious time. But if you are interested in seeing how Bag Boy competition being pictured is, maybe it's worth a rent.
