The Movie Review
This movie here is sure going stirs up controversy and will be the topic of conversation for some time in the future. The film is crammed with famous actors and actresses, why did I say crammed up? Seeing as they practically don't have major roles, maybe they could be said to have only super-duper-cameo role. We've got Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Devon Aoki, Josh Hartnett, Michael Madsen, Mickey Rourke and...Well a lot!
Sin City's storyline follows three major plots from its original graphic novel. The first is the story of an honest police office Hartigan (Bruce Willis) protecting an 11-year old girl Nancy Callahan from rape and murder. The second

is the story of a brute but kind-hearted man Marv (Mickey Rourke) avenging the murder of a prostitute who sleeps with him. The third story is about a barmaid named Shellie (Brittany Murphy) who is protected by her new boyfriend Dwight (Clive Owen) from Shellie's old boyfriend and his posse. All three plots turn out to be connected with each other and finally draw to one conclusion.
Sin City is not for everybody, I just think that you should know that first. From the very start most of you must be puzzled by its graphic and several questions probably storming your mind, like ...you're wondering are they real actors or are they mere graphics, why are the colours so dark, why is it so cruel, what's with the jumping scenes, even fans of B-grade movies would be bewildered for a little bit by its "unusually artistic" gory scenes.
The majority time of its running length is filled with narrated stories instead of dialogues, that's good, it strengthens the overall tone. Our mind is kept focused on the graphical itself. You would get the feeling of disturbance and nauseous and maybe sick of the violence and the dark color with accentuation on only three colours, yellow, red and white. Those colours really help to convey Sin City's messages, what message? It's your call.
The Storyline itself is unremarkable. It will only appeal to veteran moviegoers who have seen many many movies and maybe decide that they want to watch a novelty one or of course the fans of the graphic novel itself. I personally finds Sin City highly artistic but soulless, too many movies like this in the future would bring the credibility of comic books down to bottom of the barrel, but...if only too many though.
With all said and done, Sin City is a highly artistic freakish flick.
