The Movie Review
Having fans sure goes a long way. Will Ferrell and producer/director Judd Apatow do have that kind of luck. And it seems that whatever movie they produce, many people are enthusiastic to see it no matter what. Step Brothers' premise is anything but extraordinary and it's far from being novel. Good thing is, Will, who also wrote the screenplay, knows how to twist it, and thankfully it is a funny comedy flick.
The story revolves around two man-Childs, Brennan Huff (Will Ferrell) and Dale Doback (John C. Reilly). Brennan's mom, Nancy falls head over heel on Dale's dad, Robert. The two lovebirds decide to get married which inevitably makes Brennan and Dale as step brothers. Both men are not married, unemployed and very childish. At first the two won't get along but

after a brave act of punching the "bad guy" by Dale, Brennan and Dale start to bond.
Meanwhile their parents' patience is growing thin for having to watch Brennan and Dale do stupid meaningless things. So Robert and Nancy order the boys to go find a real job or being evicted from their own house. Could Brennan and Dale possibly get a job? Or are they trying something else "creative"?
Alright, I'm sure some of you moviegoers must have your own favorite sit-com. Larry and Balky, The Odd Couple, Friends or Three's Company or whatever your preferences are, if you have watched those series, than nothing will surprise you from watching Step Brothers. But hey! It's Will Ferrell, he twisted this comedy alright, only with some pretty gross jokes.
So, we got dog poop licking, testicles jam session, a bit of vomiting and well...some other scenes similar to that. I don't bother much of that kinda jokes, I simply want to laugh (one of the reasons of watching a comedy movie, of course). And I did laugh, even out loud for a couple of times. Jokes are stale if the comedians are wooden and stale too. But Ferrell, Reilly and the infatuated Alice (Kathryn Hahn) makes alive of this little big screen version of sit-com. And if a comedy manages to tickle your funny bones, than it is a good one.
